Summary

As the demand for Internet connection on ships and aircraft increases, the development of high-speed mobile communication technology using High-Throughput-Satellites (HTS) is underway. In Japan, an engineering test satellite named ETS-9 is being developed to establish the next-generation HTS technologies. In parallel with the development of the ETS-9, we have started the research and development of the ground communication systems to improve the frequency utilization efficiency while making full use of the functions of ETS-9. This paper gives an overview of the research and development of antenna systems to achieve the use of Ka-band efficiency.
