The global food system generates considerable negative externalities like greenhouse gas emissions, soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and labor inequities. Scholars advocate for internalizing these costs through True Cost Accounting (TCA), which reveals food’s True Price (TP) by reflecting the costs of externalities.
