• There is a strong correlation between familiarity and satisfaction with plant-based meat alternatives (PBMA). • Women, younger individuals, and those who consumed less meat are more familiar and satisfied with PBMAs. • The effects of age and meat consumption on familiarity and satisfaction with PBMAs were weaker for respondents in Asian countries (e.g., China, Indonesia).
