Summary

This study aimed to identify the salinity threshold affecting plant health and optimal conditions for sustainable strawberry cultivation in greenhouses. By identifying the optimal EC range that promotes plant growth while minimizing salinity stress, this study offers strategies to mitigate the negative effects of salinity on crop production. This study was conducted in a hydroponic system, where strawberries were irrigated with different EC levels (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, and 8.0 dS·m⁻¹) using Hoagland nutrient solutions. We applied irrigation treatments with different electrical conductivity (EC) levels to evaluate their effects on the growth, yield, and photosynthetic performance of Fragaria × ananassa ‘Tochiotome’ strawberries.
