Summary

ABSTRACT Hemp (Cannabis sativa) seeds are a functional food, due to their phytochemical and fatty acid profiles which possess anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Recent works from our group identified that supplementation of hydroponic fertiliser solutions with a biostimulant complex (BC) comprising molasses, Aloe vera, and fish hydrolysate enhances the antioxidant capacity of strawberry and tomato fruits. Herein, hemp plants were grown hydroponically with supplementation of BC to explore the impacts to seed composition and associated functional properties. A range of phytochemicals with predicted antioxidant capacity were modulated, and whilst no significant impact to seed extract antioxidant capacity was observed in vitro, bioavailability prediction indicated that BC hemp seed
