Summary

In this experiment we tested the performance of liquid extract of bovine manure (ELEB), acidulated with organic and inorganic acids,on the nutrition of sweet pepper under a hydroponics system with recirculation of nutrient solution. Results indicated that liquidmanure contains all essential nutrients for plant development; however, calcium, nitrate, sulfate, iron, and phosphorus were presentin insufficient amounts. When the liquid manure was acidulated with organic acids, there was a chelation of nutrients with calcium, ammonium, and iron, decreasing their content by 33, 90, and 23 %, respectively, in the ELEB solution. Plant height, fruit number andyield were favored when ELEB was acidulated with nitric acid
