This observational study characterised blood antioxidant micronutrient status in riparian communities along the Tapajós River in the Brazilian Amazon, examining how seasonal variation, sociodemographic factors, and livelihood practices influence antioxidant nutrient levels. The findings demonstrate that manganese, selenium and zinc levels in this population exceed Brazilian population averages, whilst β-carotene elevation is seasonal (rainy season only).
